Musica! (Italy) - 25 giugno 97

Before boarding the Roxette transatlantic liner, where he would live one of the most profitable cruise of pop music, Gessle dared the "Swedish way" to the new wave with Gyllene Fider. Mindful of that experience, now that the Swedish transatlantic liner is stuck in the harbour for repairs, he armed himself with canoe and paddle to go upstream the memories channel solo. He does it without taking himself too seriously, with a vein of divertissement that aims straight to the FM programming: elementary geometries of Lou Reed-ian rock (the initial "Stupid"), refrains that can be memorized when you first take a listen to them, soft guitar touches, ingenuous sampler games, the proverbial melodicity that made Roxette rich and famous, lyrics as deep as little soap bubbles. While waiting to set off again with Marie Fredriksson, a guest here in "I'll be alright", Gessle reassures his fans on the good capacity of his handwriting. Nothing more, nothing less.
