.: About Per . (by Tobias Henning - taken by kind permission) Per Gessle is the male guitarist and vocalist in Roxette. He is also the major writer of Roxette's music. Per has a long and successful music career. Before Roxette he played in a band called Gyllene Tider. They were enormously popular in Sweden in the beginning of the 80's. Between Gyllene Tider and Roxette Per recorded two solo albums in Swedish, which however didn't get much success. Then in 1997 Per made his 3rd solo album, this time in English. It got a lot of good reviews and the fans loved it, but somehow it didn't quite make it to the charts, except in Sweden. After this Per went back to work with Marie Fredriksson in Roxette, and released a new Roxette album in 1999. But some of us do like his solo albums and are eagerly waiting for the next one. If there will ever be one.
